Certification Information:

In order to receive the CompTIA A+ certification, you must pass two exams.

• CompTIA A+ 220-801 covers the fundamentals of computer technology, installation and Configuration of PCs, laptops and related hardware, and basic networking.
• CompTIA A+ 220-802 covers the skills required to install and configure PC operating systems, as well as configuring common features (e.g. network connectivity and email) for mobile operating systems Android and Apple iOS.

The previous version of the CompTIA A+ certification, exam codes 220-701 and 220-702, will be

available through Aug. 31, 2013. You can take either exam series to become CompTIA A+

Certified.

CompTIA A+ Certification: Essentials:

The CompTIA A+ Certification: Essentials section of the program prepares you for theCompTIA A+ Essentials certification exam and builds practical job skills for computerhardware and operating systems. These skills include the installation, maintenance, andtroubleshooting of common devices such as desktops, laptops, network and wirelessdevices, printers, and monitors. You’ll master the installation and troubleshooting of common components such as CPUs, memory, disks, power supplies, and expansion cards,as well as gain valuable practical knowledge of security concepts, customer service, andbusiness processes.

CompTIA A+ Certification: Practical Application:

The CompTIA A+ Certification: Practical Application section of the program will prepare you for the CompTIA A+ Practical Application exam. You’ll learn to troubleshoot hardware,operating systems, and networks, as well as implement security procedures and protocols.These are the skills expected of an entry-level IT technician who will have a high level ofinteraction with clients.
